Cast and Crew:


Betty Teixeira-Ward (Director)- is employed by the Fall River Public Schools as a teacher of children with special needs. This is Betty's third production directing for PCT. She has performed in numerous productions for Little Theater of Fall River where she is currently on the board of directors. She has also performed for the Star Players in Taunton and Sakonnet Players in Tiverton. She is a registered musical therapist and teaches a Summer Theater Program at Durfee High School of Fall River. She is serving on the board for PCT this year. She resides in Portsmouth with her husband and three children Ben, Becky, and Jack.

Arlene Carvey (Production Assistant)- moved from Monterey County, California, 2 1/2 years ago to live in Little Compton where she sings in the choir at United Congregational Church. She has been invloved in live theater for 37 years. In California she taught high school drama and speech for eight years and acted as artistic designer/director and costumer for regional theater including many Shakespeare and Dickens productions. Since moving to Newport County she has acted as an Artistic Advisor for two productions with the Sakonnet Players of Tiverton. Her next production will be Pippin at The Portsmouth Abbey School.


Kelly-Lynn Chasse (City Her & Choreography)- is a Massachusetts certified history teacher. She is currently enrolled as a master's degree student at UMass Dartmouth seeking her Masters of Teaching History. She has directed, written and choreographed many student productions as an extra-curricular activities drama teacher. Her last major role was Rizzo in a college production of Grease at Suffolk University in Boston. This is Kelly's first work with Portsmouth Community Theater.

Jack Clarke (Soapy)- is presently employed by the federal government at the W.U.N.C. You may have seen him as the "Church Lady" the narrator for Newport Follies. Previously he taught high school math/ art. He resides in Middletown with his wife Joanne. This is his first production with PCT and we hope not his last!

Bailey Payer (Willy)- is from Fall River where she attends St. Michael's School and is in the eighth grade. She has performed with the Sakonnet Players of Tiverton and studies voice with Arlene Ferreira. She enjoys writing, reading, and puzzles. We are thrilled she is making "headlines" with PCT.

Jason Read (Jim & Lighting Design)- is pleased to rejoin PCT for his tenth musical and his second show with the group. Favorite past roles include Oliver (Oliver), Charlie (Marvin's Room), Levi (Joseph... Dreamcoat), and Matthew (Anne of Green Gables). He has performed many times at the UMass Dartmouth Theater Company under the direction of Angus Bailey. Opening night will mark his 50th on-stage performance.

Katie vander Sleezen (Della)- Currently resides in Tiverton after having recently moved from the Netherlands. She has an extensive resume performing and choreographing. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Dance & Theater from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and a Master of the Arts in Marketing from Webster University in the Netherlands. PCT couldn't have asked for more, we are graced by her portrayal of Della.

Bobby Sylvia (City Him)- This is Bobby's third production with PCT and we are pleased to showcase his many talents. He played the lead in POP a Rhode Island School of Design student film. He has appeared in several independent short films, HBO's comedy series Sex in the City, and TV commercials. Bobby works as a software engineer here in Portsmouth.
